This Cookie Policy explains what STREETBUS stores on your device when you use this website, why, and how you can change your mind. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website puts on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, do the same kind of job. We call them all “cookies” here.

Your choice

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Accept and Reject are equally easy, and nothing is ticked for you.

  • Until you choose, and if you reject, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity do not load at all. Your browser does not contact Google or Microsoft for analytics, and no analytics cookies are set.
  • If you accept, they load on that page and on later visits.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends this signal, we treat it as Reject and do not show the banner.
  • Changing your mind: use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, at any time. If you switch from Accept to Reject, we delete the analytics cookies and reload the page.
  • We remember your choice for 12 months, then ask again.

The cookies we use

Strictly necessary (always on)

  • sb_consent (local storage, or a cookie if your browser blocks local storage) – remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we do not ask on every page. Kept for 12 months.
  • STREETBUS portal sign-in – keeps team members, crew and partners signed in to a STREETBUS portal and remembers their portal preferences. Only set if you sign in. Kept until you sign out or it expires.
  • Site management cookies (sb_access, sb_admin, sb_ver) – used only by the STREETBUS team to preview the site while it is being updated. Visitors do not get them.

Analytics (only if you accept)

  • Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_<id>) – set by Google to tell visits apart and count how pages are used, such as which pages are most popular. Kept for up to 2 years. We have switched off Google signals and advertising features in our tag.
  • Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk, and Microsoft’s CLID, MUID) – set by Microsoft to show us how pages are used: clicks, scrolling and where people get stuck, including recordings of how a page was used with typed text hidden. Kept for between 1 day and 1 year.

Google and Microsoft provide these tools for us and process the data on our behalf. They may process it outside the UK under their own safeguards. We use the results only to improve this website.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Analytics never run on the STREETBUS portals.

The same choice and the same rules apply to the STREETBUS crew contact pages (streetbus.uk/crew/…).

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop the portals from working, and the banner will ask again each visit. Google also offers an opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics across all sites.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the site develops. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
