About us
One man. One bus. One belief.
STREETBUS started with one man, one bus and one belief - that culture and opportunity should come to where they're needed most.
The founder
Dougie Cooper has been obsessed with basketball for as long as he can remember - the bounce of the ball, the squeak of trainers, the way a court can pull a whole neighbourhood together. That lifelong love is what set everything in motion.
He took a classic American school bus and reimagined it as a mobile street court - a rolling hub with a DJ platform, a graffiti wall and space for people to play, create and belong. Wherever it parks up, the bus turns a patch of tarmac into a stage for street culture.
His mission is simple but stubborn - break down barriers and create opportunity through the culture he loves. He takes the bus to town centres, estates, schools and festivals, always doing it WITH communities rather than for them - listening first, building together and leaving people with something that lasts.
To everyone who's caught the bus rolling into their town, he's simply the HoopDaddy. If that sounds like your kind of energy, come and say hello - he'd love to connect.
Why we do it
Build community and connection through street culture. Break down social barriers, inspire participation and create shared space where young people and adults of all ages can connect, play, create and grow.
Create opportunity where it doesn't exist - access to equipment, pathways into careers and real hope for the future. Every penny generated through commercial activity is reinvested straight back into community benefit.
The bus only keeps moving because people back it. Give your time or back the cause and help bring culture and opportunity to the next community.
