The MCR bus is here. We teamed up with Manchester Basketball to launch it at their REP THE CITY night on Friday 30 January, tipping off from 6pm at the National Basketball Performance Centre ahead of the club's Super League Basketball clash with Bristol Flyers.
It's exactly what the bus is built for — basketball, music and gaming culture rolled into one. Fans stepped up to take on social-media baller Mordzs on the court outside the arena, all wrapped inside a proper Mancunian celebration: local music, a slam dunk competition and the club's special-edition 0161 Castore kit.
"Our partnership with STREETBUS is one we're really excited for — it's a fun experience that blends basketball, music and gaming culture together," said Manchester Basketball CEO Claire Bradbury, who pointed to connecting community and creating a sense of belonging as the heart of what the club is about.
That's a mission we share. Bringing the game, the music and the culture to where the people are — not the other way round — is the whole reason the bus exists, and Manchester has always shown it love.
This is just the first stop. Keep an eye on the calendar for where the MCR bus rolls up next.
